Seasonal Camping FAQ

Do you have boats for rent?

Yes! We have motor boats, paddle boats, canoes, paddle boards, and kayaks available. We also rent life jackets. Please see the Features Page.

May I bring my own boat and use it?

Yes! You may bring your own boats. We do have a 10hp limit on the motor size. Boat launching fees would apply

Are pets allowed in the park?

Yes! We do ask that you carry the paperwork for the shots and clean up after them. We have a 6’ leash restriction when walking your pet and you will be able to enjoy the dog park and the pet swimming areas. See those locations on the map. Please note, to be considerate of allergies no pets are allowed in any rental units. We also do not allow aggressive breeds in the park such as Pit bulls and Rottweiler’s.

We love our campfire, are we allowed campfires?

Yes! Campfires are permitted but we ask due to the Emerald Ash Borer that you do not bring firewood into the park. Wood is available from the Rec Hall office. We also encourage great campfire songs to be sung around the campfire including “Down by the Bay”.

Do we need life jackets for the beach?

Yes! We do want to see life jackets worn when on the water toys for your safety. Don’t have your own life jacket for you or the kids? Rentals available at the Rec. Hall  office. Rates here.

Is there much to do for the kids?

Where do we start? There are 5 playgrounds throughout the park, our very own Cove Pirate Ship, basketball courts, beach volleyball, badminton, huge inflatable water toys, 2 indoor pools, nature trails, bike rides on loops, trails and paths, fishing docks, daily kids activity programming, giant checkers game and more. We promise your kids will be tired.

What services do you have on the sites?

We have 15/30/50/60 amp service hydro, water and sewer. Your site will have a cement patio, a picnic table and a fire pit. Pull thru, Executive and some back-ins sites have 50amp hydro service. Tent sites have electricity, water and public washrooms located within close proximity.

What size are the campsites?

At minimum all serviced sites are 40’x70’ or larger. The pull thru sites are 45’x100’ in size. The tent sites are smaller but they still have hydro and water on them for your convenience.

Is the cost of electricity included in my seasonal campsite price?

Unfortunately no, each site is on its own electricity meter and is read every September.

Do we need to place a deposit on a site or rental unit and what if I had to cancel?

Yes, when we take a reservation we take a credit card to hold your reservation. The only time we would put anything on your card is if you had to cancel. The policy is if you had to cancel 8 days or more before your arrival date, then a $13.50 reservation fee would apply. If you had to cancel 7 day prior or less to your arrival date, then 1 night camping and the $13.50 reservation fee would apply. When booking a rental unit, a 50% non-refundable deposit would apply at the time of booking. The balance, will be processed 7 days prior to the arrival date which is non- refundable. To hold a seasonal site a $500.00 deposit would be required.

What amperage do you have in the park?

The pull thru sites and some back-in sites have 30/50 amp. And the rest of the park is 30 amp service. The resort sites offer 60amp service for seasonal campers.

Do you have WIFI?

Camping is a great time to disconnect but we understand you may need to get online. Fisherman’s Cove offers WIFI with a free hotspot located at the Rec Hall just behind the main beach area. Additionally WIFI is available to purchase at your campsite for an additional fee.

Is there sewer on the sites or do I have to use a dump station?

With exception of the tent sites all sites do have sewer hookups on the site. We do also have dump stations within the park.

Can I request a certain site or area?

You may request but unfortunately, we will not guarantee a specific site. We will take your request and we will do our absolute best to get you your requested site but sometimes we may not be able to fulfill that request. Please note, you will receive your site number on arrival.

How do I get in after the office is closed?

You can get a gate card to re-enter the park. If you are arriving late simply call and we will greet you when you arrive.

When does the camping season start/end and when is check in/out?

Camping begins May 1st and runs until October 1st. The pools open on May 15th for the season. You can check in at 2pm, and check out is requested by 11am. We may be able to accommodate early check in/ late checkout if requested in advance and accommodation is available with a fee.

Due to the many families who use the park, golf carts are not allowed for safety reasons. Campers with mobility issues are welcome to use scooters for navigating the park. Be sure to pack bicycles and helmets for the kids as there are lots of opportunities to ride on the bike paths, trails and paved sections of the park. Lights are required on bikes at dusk.
